Historica,
a new foundation dedicated to increasing Canadians knowledge
of their heritage and to re-igniting a passion for the study of
history, in collaboration with Université de Montréal,
launches its francophone partnerships and programs.
A private, joint
initiative between Red Wilson of BCE Inc. and Charles Bronfman,
Historica will continue The CRB Foundation Heritage Projects
efforts in promoting history and heritage education by mobilizing
key partnerships in an innovative multimedia strategy. The Arts
and Sciences Faculty of Université de Montréal, the
Communication Department and the Centre for Youth and Media Studies
are associated for the coordination and the evaluation of educational
projects of the Foundation.
The Foundation
will initiate its own French and English programs and products and
will also be a source of funds for projects with similar objectives.
Todays
launch will mark two occasions: the passage of The Heritage Projects
initiatives to their new home and the announcement of Historicas
first initiatives. These include the Cyberligne du temps
on the Internet, the comic strip Notre histoire scientifique
en BD in the magazine Les Débrouillards, and the
television series Au Max produced by Motion International.
Historica giving our past a future.
